Mission:

The Kern River Valley Senior Citizens, Inc. (SCI) is dedicated to creating a robust network where neighbors support neighbors, enabling community members to age with dignity in their own homes and community for as long as possible.

We empower older adults to maintain independence, engage meaningfully with their community, and access the resources they need for healthy, fulfilling lives.

Who We Are:

SCI is a member-driven non-profit organization operated entirely by volunteers. Unlike a physical facility, healthcare organization, or traditional social service agency, SCI is a community support system that specializes in providing resources and referrals critical to maintaining independence, activities and support for older adults.

Our office is located at 6405 Lake Isabella Blvd. inside the Kern River Valley Senior Center.

SCI is a proud member of Village Movement California, a statewide network of 50 community-based organizations called “villages” committed to transforming the aging experience. Together with our Village Movement partners, we work to improve quality of life, expand choices at all stages of aging, and empower older adults to remain in charge of their lives while aging in place. Our collaborative approach ensures that aging in the Kern River Valley is characterized by dignity, purpose, and community support.
